Airileke Ingram is a PNG/Australian artist. He is recognised across the Pacific as a pioneer of Pacific music, leading innovative musical and cultural projects. Airileke was Co-Artistic Director of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2015 Pacific Games – the biggest cultural event ever staged in the South Pacific. His debut album Weapon of Choice was nominated for an ARIA Award and listed in the top 10 World Music Albums of 2012 by UK’s Songlines magazine. His unique sound brings together futuristic ideas with traditional beats that hark back to ancient Melanesian roots and his music has been featured in film and television. Airileke was Co-Founder of the Wantok Musik foundation, Founder of PNG’s Makoda Productions and Rize of the Morning Star, a global solidarity music movement for West Papua.
