ISPA Congresses

Important ISPA Congress Announcement

Over the past few weeks, ISPA staff along with the C.F. Koo Foundation, our hosts for the international congress in Taipei, have been monitoring the developments with respect to the coronavirus in Taiwan and throughout the region. The Executive Committee convened to review the options and the risk connected to international travel. Based on the information available at this time, it is with great regret that the Executive, in consultation with the C.F. Koo Foundation, has decided to cancel the congress in Taipei which was scheduled for June 1-5, 2020.

ISPA is taking this opportunity to explore the possibility of connecting with you through new digital platforms. We will be continuing with Pitch New Works and are excited to develop our first “online” version of the popular program. We are also exploring the possibility of staging one or more panels in this new format and will keep you updated on these ideas over the coming weeks.

We want to take this opportunity to thank Vivien Ku and her team for all the time and effort already invested in preparation for the congress. We hope to announce another congress in Taipei or the region in the future.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

David Baile
Chief Executive Officer

Chair, Board of Directors

David Baile

What Are ISPA Congresses?

Twice a year, ISPA Congresses bring together performing arts leaders from across the globe to discover the next great idea, and strengthen relationships, fostering connection and exchange.

Who Attends ISPA Congresses?

ISPA congresses are attended by more than 500 leaders from more than 50 countries representing different genres and disciplines within the performing arts field. Programming is geared toward both established and emerging leaders in the performing arts. The congress attendees include presenters, festivals, producing companies, artist managers, consultants, and government cultural leaders.

Why Arts Leaders Attend ISPA Congresses

Exchange and Develop Ideas

Exchange and Develop Ideas

Explore the congress theme over the course of engaging panel discussions, debates, roundtable conversations, and more led by a range of industry leaders and experts. Regional updates examine the changing environments of various global regions and how you might be affected. Delegates have the opportunity to join in live and continue the conversations during the numerous networking opportunities.

Strengthen and Nurture Relationships

Strengthen and Nurture Relationships

Delegates socialize and network at the Professional Exchange (ProEx) marketplace, coffee breaks, receptions, and other social events during the congress. New members participate in the Community Building Program to be formally paired with a veteran ISPA member to facilitate introductions.

Commission and Present New Works

Commission and Present New Works

Learn about new performing arts projects from the creators themselves! In addition to programmed performances throughout the congress, the Pitch New Works session highlights a curated set of projects and works in process from across the globe. Get involved with these artistic ventures and support the new works through commission or presentation before they enter the international marketplace.
