Sarah Neal is a curator, programmer and producer with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing. Her interests are contemporary performance practice, international engagement, and developing artists and audiences. Prior to joining Malthouse Theatre, Sarah was the Acting Artistic Director and Head of Programming of Brisbane Powerhouse where she commissioned and curated Australian and international theatre, dance, music and film. Sarah has also worked as a writer, director and producer in film and television and contributed to a range of national and international performing arts and film festival panels, including the Theatre Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards, the Helpmann Awards, and panels for the Berlinale Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival and Frameline Film Festival San Francisco.
