Matthias
Naske, founding Director General of the Philharmonie Luxembourg, has been
appointed CEO & Artistic Director of the Wiener Konzerthaus. Matthias Naske
will assume his new function from the 1st July 2013, after leading the
Établissement public "Salle de Concerts Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte”
for ten years during which he established the Luxemburgish concert hall as one
of the main venues in Europe and saw the fusion between the concert venue and
the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg through.
In
December 2012, the Luxemburgish Minister of Culture Octavie Modert, following
the advice of a prominently composed committee (Thomas Angyan, Director General
of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Wien, Laurent Bayle, Director General of
the Cité de la musique et de la Salle Pleyel à Paris, Stefan Forsberg, Director
General of the Stockholms Konserthuset and Christophe Lieben-Seutter, Director
General of the Elbphilharmonie and Laiezhalle in Hambourg), appointed the
Austrian manager Stephan Gehmacher new Director General of the Établissement
public "Salle de Concerts Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte”. Stephan
Gehmacher, currently General Manager of the Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen
Rundfunks, will take over his new function on 1st September 2013.
