Jeanne LeSage Joins Kay Meek Centre as Executive Director

Help us congratulate ISPA member Jeanne LeSage on her new position as Executive Director at Kay Meek Centre. After a nationwide search Jeanne LeSage has been named Executive Director effective March 1st, 2014.

West Vancouver Arts Centre Trust (WVACT) announced a new management structure and appointees for the Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts at the Annual General Meeting on January 28, 2014.
The new structure divides the roles of the Managing and Artistic Director to best meet the evolving needs of Kay Meek Centre in a period of expansion and artistic growth.
Claude Giroux continues in his role as Artistic Director responsible for the artistic vision, selection of programming for the Kay Meek Centre season and youth programs, along with direction of produced works and artistic outreach programs in the community. The Artistic Director will ensure the organization is guided by its objectives of artistic excellence, creativity, and community engagement.
“I am very proud of what we have achieved over the past two years in building the Kay Meek Centre into an exciting hub of artistic excellence in West Vancouver. We’re attracting music and theatre lovers from all over the North Shore and beyond, and last year we launched our own professional theatre company right here at the Kay Meek.. Our goal is to continue to build our audience as our reputation grows, “says Giroux, “and to continue to honour the legacy of our founding donor Kay Meek.”
After a nationwide search Ms. Jeanne LeSage has been named Executive Director effective March 1st, 2014 and will be directly responsible for administration, operations, strategic planning and financial management of the organization.
LeSage’s career has spanned film festivals, theatre, dance and opera with a strong focus on operational effectiveness and strategy. After a first career in stage management, and 10 years with the Toronto International Film Festival, LeSage took international engagements including the prestigious 9-month Arts Management Fellowship at the Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts, Managing Producer for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival and Deputy Interim CEO for the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. LeSage holds a Drama and English degree from University of Toronto. She is past-Board President for Toronto's Volcano Theatre, an internationally renowned and award winning experimental theatre.
