Artistic Director Jude Kelly at Southbank Centre announced the launch of the UK’s first fully surround-sound virtual reality concert performance, inviting members of the public in for nine minute tour of the orchestra. Fans will be able to wear high-tech glasses, headsets and headphones to experience being on stage with the Philharmonia Orchestra and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen as they perform the third movement of Sibelius’ Symphony No 5.
