Arts organizations have historically and presently pointed to and touted artistic quality as a tenet of their mission and brand. Yet artistic expression and practice is a reflection of the values of a culture and people. How can statements of quality and their articulation become barriers to inclusion? Are there alternatives that honor unique value systems?

Climate change is real but how do we continue to present international work in a sustainable way. What models are there to present international work? Global advocacy movements such as Fair Saturday or Giving Tuesday have been highly effective in mobilizing social change from the grassroots up. In this discussion we’ll look at how artists and arts organizations are creating, and can continue to grow, movements that facilitate social empathy and positive change in our communities.

Many arts companies, festivals and venues use international delegate programs to learn, exchange ideas, and develop shared projects. In the low carbon future, how can we best evolve these programs responsibly for efficiency and depth in our international relationship building? In this discussion we want to think about these topics in different regions of the world. What's worked well in your experience and what's your approach for the longer term?

Countless large-scale international tours were canceled due to the onset of the pandemic. Some have since been able to take shape anew, in various ways. In this discussion, we’ll discuss the mechanics, experience, and learning of touring internationally at this stage in the pandemic as well aslarger questions such as large scale touring possibilities post pandemic? What are we having to balance?
