 Dr. Lavanya BalachandranMusician (Vocals) Lavanya Balachandran obtained a Diploma in Carnatic vocal music and the title of Sangeetha Visharad from the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS), one of Singapore's foremost institutions for classical Indian arts. She has over two decades of training under Smt. Mangalam Shankar, an A-grade artiste of All India Radio, India's national public broadcaster. Lavanya performs widely as a soloist and vocalist for dance recitals. She is also a music composer, with credits including "Mighty Warrior Prince Bheema," staged at the Esplanade in Singapore in 2021, and Maatrika, presented by Apsaras Arts in Singapore in 2024. Most recently, she composed and performed as lead vocalist for Putran, a group thematic production by SIFAS at Kalakshetra, Chennai, in December 2025. She also holds a Diploma in Bharatanatyam and the Natya Visharad title from SIFAS. Lavanya has a PhD in Sociology and teaches at the National University of Singapore.
