![]() Siong LengSingapore Established in 1941, Siong Leng is a Singapore arts company dedicated to preserving and promoting Nanyin, one of the world’s oldest surviving musical art forms. Its growth was shaped by the late chairman Mr Teng Mah Seng, a 1987 Cultural Medallion recipient, whose passion and innovations helped revive and revitalise Nanyin. Siong Leng has played a leading role in advancing Nanyin internationally, organising landmark conferences, concerts, symposiums and youth festivals since 1977. The company also actively participates in international Nanyin symposiums and has performed across Asia, Europe and the United States, fostering exchange and championing the development and promotion of the art form. Siong Leng received the inaugural Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award in 2017 and The Stewards of Intangible Cultural Heritage Award from the National Heritage Board in 2021. It is also a recipient of the National Arts Council Major Grant.
