 Meenakshy BhaskarArtistic Director, CEO Meenakshy Bhaskar is the Artistic Director and CEO of Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, Singapore, and a choreographer with over five decades of experience in performance and creation. Trained in Bharatanatyam under Mr K.P. Bhaskar and Mrs Santha Bhaskar, her practice extends across multiple dance traditions, including Malay, Chinese, and contemporary forms. Her work is deeply rooted in collaboration, bringing together artists across disciplines, cultures, and geographies. From long-standing partnerships with international musicians and dancers to large-scale intercultural productions such as Yaatra III, Vinayaka, Butterfly Lovers, and Radin Mas, she has consistently explored the intersections of heritage and contemporary expression. Meenakshy’s choreographic voice reflects Singapore’s multicultural landscape, engaging with themes of identity, diaspora, and belonging. Through her leadership, she continues to foster meaningful artistic exchange, while nurturing future generations and evolving a distinctly Singaporean approach to Indian classical arts.
