![]() Sreymao SaoArtist SAO Sreymao (b. 1986, a refugee camp on the Thai-Cambodian border) is a Cambodian multidisciplinary artist and graduated of Phare Ponleu Selpak’s School of Visual and Applied Arts. Working across painting, photography, digital drawing, video, sculpture, and performance, her practice explores personal memory, embodiment, and the shifting physical and psychological landscapes of Cambodian urban and rural life. She frequently collaborates with writers on visual storytelling and contributes to publications. Her work has been exhibited widely in Cambodia and internationally, including in Brazil, Germany, France, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, and the United States. Recent solo exhibitions include The Breath-Through the Sea at Vila Sul Goethe-Institut, Brazil (2025), Breathing Thread at Pteas Chas, Phnom Penh (2023), and Samput Sor at Silapak Trotchaek Pneik, Phnom Penh (2022). She is also co-founder of tiSamjort collective and Nomadix Art Tour.
