From the opening weekend of Leeuwarden-Friesland, European Capital of Culture 2018, a different large-scale video work can be seen projected on the Oldehove tower every three months throughout the entire year. Each projection is created by three artists, each of which includes an artist working with language (such as a poet, rapper, writer or spoken word performer) and a filmmaker/video artist.
Especially for the ISPA delegates, a projection can be seen of filmmaker/muscian René Duursma, writer/poet Rodaan Al Galidi and animator Antonia Rehnen on Tuesday, June 12 at 22:45. Learn more

A site-specific performance about the privileged position of white people compared to all other people in the world, and the fact that these same white people haven’t got the slightest idea about that.
In Daar gaan we weer, three highly educated, white West Europeans of almost forty years old respond to a mirror that is held up to their faces, in which they observe the reflections of a dubious past and a complex present, a mirror that is increasingly difficult to ignore.
From their modern office, three colleagues try to define their role in the racism debate. Gradually, they sink further and further into a moral morass, in which fatigue and hypersensitivity are never far away.

The history of my stiffness is a performance about the Dutch inability to move supplely. Is it our ingrained Calvinism, the freezing cold, our shame and the clay landscape that determine the way in which we dance? Our landscape is parcelled out; maybe our bodies are ‘cheesed out’? Are we born rigidly, or brought up rigidly?

Together with 10 stiff compatriots, Marleen Scholten and Walter Bart will try to get to the bottom of their national character. We’ll let loose!! But then again not.

About Wunderbaum
 We are actors group Wunderbaum. Formed in 2001 in the Netherlands by actors Walter Bart, Wine Dierickx, Matijs Jansen, Maartje Remmers, Marleen Scholten and designer Maarten van Otterdijk. The three key features of what makes Wunderbaum unique are: our style of blowing up reality, how we approach our theatre as a way towards a new society and our diverse collaborations.
Ever since Wunderbaum was founded in 2001, we’ve made performances, that toured all over the world, from Rio de Janeiro to Iran to Los Angeles. For our work, we’ve received many awards, among which the Proscenium price and the Total Theatre Award of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
From 2018 onwards, we are working from three major European cities: Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Milan (Italy) and Jena (Germany). Throughout these different cities, we aim to look at broad European subjects that resonate all over the globe."
