Benny Marcel started his career in the human rights field. He was first stationed in Beirut, Lebanon during the 80s. In 1992, he was appointed European Director for “Save the Children” where he stayed for seven years. In 1999, Benny Marcel followed a new line in his career when he was appointed as Executive Director for The Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Örebro Cultural School. He has worked as Deputy Director General and Head of Department - Arts and Culture at the Swedish Arts Council for twelve years. He is currently Director for the Nordic Culture Fund, based in Copenhagen. The Nordic Culture Fund’s primary aim is to promote and invest in Nordic cultural cooperation and provide grants to Nordic projects.
