The 16th China Shanghai International Arts Festival will be occurring From October 17-November 16This is the only state-level International Arts Festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and organized by Shanghai Municipal People's Government. The China Shanghai International Arts Festival is exerting increasingly greater influence on both domestic and overseas cultural stages, becoming a significant brand of China’s cultural exchange. In recent years, it has won over ten prizes at home and abroad, including the "China Top Ten Influential Festivals" by IFEA.

Also, The Rising Artists' Works program, (R.A.W!) will be occurring in-tandem with the Shanghai International Arts Festival.

"China Shanghai International Arts Festival Rising Artists’ Works (R.A.W!) program is a long –standing project. It aims to gather young people’s creative talents, carry forward the original strength of China, and establish an excellent creative platform for young artistic talents’ innovation and exploration as well as incubate original works representative of rising artists’ creative ideas in China and with international impact and competitiveness. The young talents finally selected by experts of arts field each time will gain financial support for the productions and performances of their original works, and premiere at China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The Chinese and foreign guests participating in fairs and forums of the Festival will all be invited to watch the works and give professional feedback or advice. This project provides an opportunity to artistic talents that truly love arts, have creative passions, potentials and dreams to stand out and strike onto the international stage" (from the website).
