EarFilms' "To Sleep to Dream"

With a proven track record for success, ISPA’s Pitch New Works program continues to assist works in development with securing touring dates, agents, co-commissions, premieres, and more.

Today we’re highlighting the audio film project company EarFilms, which fuses live story-telling, 3D sound, and a cinematic musical score to create a screen-free experience that unlocks the listener’s imagination. Audience members are blindfolded and transported into an incredible world created only through sound.

When pitched to ISPA delegates at the New York 2011 Congress, the project was still deep in the development phase. Following their pitch EarFilms caught the eye of ISPA member Peter Hauser of Vision Pilots. Peter took EarFilms under his wing, and the partnership enabled them to create the first ever feature-length piece - To Sleep to Dream. This development led to a preview and residency at 3-Legged Dog in New York in 2013. Finally, this past summer To Sleep to Dream completed an incredible sold-out tour at college campuses in the US.
