Canada Council for the Arts Speaks About Big Changes in Funding

Thursday, February 19, 2015   (0 Comments)

The Canada Council for the Arts recently announced that it’s making big changes in how it spreads arts funding across the country. Though the details on how the new system will work have yet to be shared with the public, council director Simon Brault spoke with the Vancouver Province’s Peter Darbyshire and expanded on the general thrust of the changes — principally, streamlining the bureaucratic glut of programs into a smaller and more manageable number.

“We want to make all the processes much less bureaucratic and much more 21st century … you won’t need a sherpa to find your way through all these different programs,” says Simon Brault in an interview with The Province.
