Korea Arts Management Service Has a New President

ISPA member organization Korea Arts Management Service has a new president. Below is the official announcement made by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Sun-young as president of the Korea Arts Management Service, stating, “his experience in expanding the local cultural industry overseas and work in media broadcast production will help the organization thrive.

Under the leadership of Minister Kim Jongdeok, the MCST appointed Kim as president of the KAMS on Wednesday, March 18. The newly appointed president previously served as director of the Industry Division at the Gyeonggi Content Agency, and has worked as both a producer and director for various broadcast companies, including the Educational Broadcasting System, Donga TV and JEI TV.

Kim’s efforts toward globalizing the local cultural industry and promoting the education industry, as well as his contributions to media broadcast production and a wide variety of projects in the arts, have made him the ideal candidate for boosting interdisciplinary cooperation and synergetic efforts. During his three-year term as president from March, 18, 2015, to March 17, 2018, he is expected to contribute greatly to the KAMS’ development and to its reputation as a stronghold for sustainability and vitality in the arts in Korea.
