Tuesday, September 8, 2015   (0 Comments)

On behalf of our Co-Chairs, Tim Brinkman and Shoshana Polanco, the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) is delighted to launch the New York 2016 ISPA Congress, Performance! January 12 – 14, 2016.

Under their leadership, the 2016 Planning Committee has thought long and hard about bringing you, a refreshing experience as we tackle a theme that we have not really explored in the past few years - the role of art and artists.

The creation, curation and presentation of art and artists are at the heart of all we do. Across the globe approaches differ vastly and within single regions, new influences drive inspiring new practices. Every day colleagues are discovering uncharted creative territory. What role do innovation, funding, training and technology play in our work? Are there fundamentals that exist across those approaches and practices? What impact do they have? Join us in 2016 as we explore the art of our business.

We’ve heard you!

You may notice a few changes in the schedule for 2016. In response to your feedback about the New York Congress, the Planning Committee is adding a few new elements to ISPA’s 68th Congress while phasing out or changing others.

The biggest change you’ll notice is that the presentation of the annual awards will occur within the Congress instead of during a formal Awards Dinner.

We will kick off the Congress on Tuesday with an opening reception and the following evening, enjoy ISPA Out on the Town. Thursday will close with a chance to socialize immediately following the Congress with a party later that evening as a closing event. Thank you for your feedback!
