Monday, July 17, 2017
The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) announced that Magdalena Moreno Mujica has been appointed as the new Executive Director and will commence her role on August 1st, 2017.
Ms. Moreno, who has extensive international experience in government and the cultural sector, has been the Deputy Director of IFACCA since July 2014 and previously served on the board of IFACCA (representing the National Council for Culture and the Arts of the Government of Chile as Head of International Relations), and as Programme Director for the 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Santiago, Chile.
I am honoured to be appointed the new Executive Director. The Federation has played a critical role over its 16 years since its inception under the leadership of Sarah Gardner. As the world continues to change rapidly, I take on the stewardship of IFACCA with a deep commitment and conviction that international dialogue and working together across borders are more needed than ever," stated Ms. Moreno.
Ms. Moreno replaces Sarah Gardner, who was appointed as founding Executive Director in 2001. Ms. Gardner will be farewelled by Sydney colleagues in August and by the IFACCA board, on behalf of members, at its meeting in Kuala Lumpur in November.
