Registration Now Open for New York 2018 ISPA Congress
Balancing Acts: Art, Community, and Leadership
New York City: January 9 – 11, 2018
New York, NY, USA (September 5, 2017) – Registration is now open for the New York 2018 ISPA Congress, Balancing Acts: Art, Community, and Leadership. The three-day congress opens January 9th at the 92nd Street Y and then moves to the Times Center January 10th and 11th. Representing different genres and disciplines within the performing arts field, more than 500 delegates from around the world are expected to attend.
The intersection of the creation and presentation of the arts, its role in our communities, and the transition to the next generation of arts leaders is a balancing act. As society is molded by many forces there is a fundamental impact on the arts sector. With these changes, we have an opportunity not only to reflect the shifting values of our broader society but indeed shape them. How will the current and next generation of leaders approach this evolution and celebrate the arts as a catalyst of positive transformation?
“Under the leadership of co-chairs, Zeyba Rahman of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art and Piotr Turkiewicz of National Forum of Music/Jazztopad Festival, the 2018 Planning Committee is working to bring congress delegates a dialogue that will be relevant and timely while celebrating the arts and their role in society.” said CEO David Baile.
Online registration is open through December 30th. The discounted early bird rates are available for delegates who register on or before October 27th.

About ISPA: The International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) is a global association of more than 500 arts management leaders from 56 regions, who come together with the shared goal of strengthening and developing the arts internationally. We achieve this by building leadership ability, by recognizing and discussing field-wide trends and new developments, and by deepening global exchange through the arts. ISPA members include presenters, performing arts organizations, artist managers, competitions, funders, consultants and other professionals working in the performing arts. Founded in 1948 by Patrick Hayes, 2017 marked ISPA's 69th Anniversary.
About ISPA Congresses: ISPA Congresses bring together performing arts leaders to discover the next great idea, strengthen relationships, and rejuvenate their passion for the arts. Programming is geared toward administrators, presenters, managers, agents, artists and government/cultural leaders.
ISPA holds two Congresses annually, one every January in New York City and a second Congress in a different region of the world. Recent International Congress locations include Seoul, South Korea (2012), Wrocław, Poland (2013), Bogotá, Colombia (2014), Malmö, Sweden/Copenhagen, Denmark (2015), and Melbourne, Australia (2016).
