France Moves Closer to National Music Center

Francoise NyssenThe International Arts Manager reported on December 1, 2017 that "France has moved one step closer to creating a new national “house of music”, after a report on the subject received backing from minister of culture Françoise Nyssen."

Authored by Roch-Olivier Maistre, it suggests that a state-run institution would be the best way to meet the needs of the sector. Such an institution could increase musical diversity, promote French music internationally, offer simplified access to finance and encourage collaboration between groups.
