Registration Open for Guadalajara 2019 ISPA Congress
The Strength Within Us
May 27 – 31, 2019, Mexico
New York, NY, USA (February 12, 2019) – Registration is now open for the Guadalajara 2019 ISPA Congress, The Strength Within Us. Hosted by University of Guadalajara and the Guadalajara Convention and Visitors Bureau, the 104th ISPA congress will take place May 27-31 at various locations throughout the city.
Congress Theme
The Strength Within Us, together we are stronger. The Guadalajara 2019 ISPA Congress’ mission is to shine a spotlight on Jalisco, Mexico and Latin America as well as their context and place in the global community.
There is a strength within us both as a Latinx community as well as a Mexican and Jalisco community. Each community’s identity adds to the common one. It is our common identity that gives us strength to develop, empower ourselves, and flourish. There is strength within us as cultural and artistic creators and directors. Culture is a tool and a force for building a diverse and globalized world that’s critical in spirit and willing to redesign itself on the basis of constant reflection.
The theme of The Strength Within Us will be addressed through different sessions and perspectives from local, regional, and international voices throughout the congress. There will be a strong emphasis on exploring narratives from the past, present, and future.
Congress events begin with the Anthony Field Academy (an intensive arts administration program for emerging leaders) all day Monday, May 27th and Tuesday, May 28th and the full congress kicks off Wednesday morning and runs through Friday, May 31st. In addition to the always anticipated ISPA programs such as Pitch New Works, Professional Exchange (ProEx), and the ISPA Awards, the congress delegates will have opportunities to visit the newest, state of the art theaters along with some of the city’s most treasured and iconic facilities. Local and regional artists and arts organizations will be featured throughout the congress.
“This will be our second congress in Mexico (Mexico City, 2004) and our fourth in Latin America. In many respects, the 2019 Congress theme represents a culmination of our past experiences as it provides a unique opportunity for us to experience the strength of Mexican and Latin American culture as well as the strength we share as a global performing arts community.” said CEO David Baile.
Online registration is open through May 17th. The discounted early bird rates are available for delegates who register before April 5th and a special regional rate for delegates from Latin America is also featured.
