Crystal Pite's Anticipated Premiere for "Revisor"
Thursday, March 7, 2019
Today, we’re highlighting the newly premiered collaboration by writer Jonathan Young and choreographer/director Crystal Pite: Revisor. The resulting dance-theater work is performed by eight dancers from Crystal's company, Kidd Pivot, as they embody a recorded dialogue exploring conflict, comedy and corruption in the potent relationship between language and the body. The work was first introduced to ISPA delegates at the Montreal 2017 ISPA Congress.
Following a four week residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Revisor premiered to critical success on February 20th at the Vancouver Playhouse, Canada. The work is now on its third stop of a North American tour. It will visit many ISPA member venues who joined as co-producers including the National Arts Center, Canada, and a US premier at Carolina Performing Arts on March 21!
With a proven track record for success. ISPA's Pitch New Works program continues to assist works in development with securing touring dates, regional agents, co-commissions, premiere, and more.
