Help us give a warm welcome to Marissa Oliver, ISPA's new Manager of Membership and Events! Marissa is thrilled to join ISPA next month just in time for the 2020 New York Congress. She comes to ISPA with experience as Operations Officer for the Resettlement and Integration Technical Assistance (RITA) Project and Regional Program Officer at the International Rescue Committee (IRC). During her time at the IRC, Marissa organized the IRC’s Annual Resettlement Conference and 17 workshops and trainings in 12 European and Eurasian countries. She oversaw all administrative aspects of the RITA project, including coordination of finance, human resources, information systems, building vendor relationships, travel scheduling, supply chain systems, website management, and all workshop logistics.
Prior to her tenure at the IRC, she coordinated the evaluation processes for over 1300 schools at the International Baccalaureate’s Global Centre for the Americas region, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania, and interned at the Museum of Photographic Arts in their Development Department. Marissa enjoys taking ballet and modern dance classes and her art was recently published in Adbusters Magazine. She holds a master’s degree in International Development Studies from George Washington University and is proficient in Spanish and Romanian. Marissa looks forward to transitioning into arts administration and contributing her eight years of international development experience, non-profit administrative expertise and a passion for all things creative to ISPA.
Marissa will assume the position beginning January 6th, 2020. The New York 2020 ISPA Congress will her first chance to meet our members in person. Let's introduce Marissa to ISPA's warm community environment and say hello if you see her at the congress in January.
