Join us in congratulating ISPA Fellowship alumnus and founder/director of Istanbul-based Atta Festival Hakan Silahsizoglu on being appointed as new Children's Theatre Programmer at Watermans Arts Centre in West London. Hakan is starting this new position in London beginning January 2020, while continue to lead Turkey’s Atta Festival.
Hakan trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England and played in BBC Radio 4 plays, appeared in various TV commercials, international television and film projects in London and Istanbul. As a cultural operator; he is a member of The Fence theatre network and the co-coordinator of Turkish committee in Eurodram, Europe's largest drama translation network. Hakan’s been a global fellow at International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Silahsizoglu has served at the selection committee of International Association of Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) in 2018.
