Peter Wiegold is a versatile musician and composer whose career spans conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, collaborating with global artists—from Mongolia’s horse-hair fiddlers to disciples of Ravi Shankar—and creating innovative works like a BBC Proms piece featuring 150 musicians. After a successful classical start, he took a sabbatical to explore world music and now focuses on co-creative, cross-media collaborations blending music, theatre, text, and video.

In his upcoming talk, Wiegold will explore the essence of successful creative collaboration—the spark of spontaneity, intelligence, and playfulness—and share excerpts from his current project, **The Third Orchestra**. Launched in 2019 from his Club Inégales, this global ensemble transcends traditional musical boundaries by integrating diverse world traditions and individual stories rather than mere fusion. The orchestra emphasizes collaboration led from the center, involving musicians from numerous countries and styles, and has performed internationally with future projects planned across Europe, Asia, and the US.

Wiegold also held a research professorship at Brunel University, focusing on transcultural and cross-genre creative practices.
