Pitched at ISPA’s 2025 New York, A a | a B: B E N D is a collaboration between Canadian choreographer Aszure Barton and American jazz trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, produced by Pomegranate Arts (United States)

Following their pitch, BEND received key funding from Canada’s National Creation Fund before completing a successful residency at Banff Center for Art and Creativity.

The work then had its North American premiere in Minneapolis at the Walker Arts Center as well as its Canadian premiere at TO Live in Toronto. Conversations are now in process with other American and European Presenters for dates in 2026.
