From Okwui Okpokwasili and Peter Born’s company Sweat Variant (United States), adaku, part 2 pitched at ISPA’s 2025 New York Congress.
Since its pitch, adaku, part 2 has confirmed lead commissioning partners as the Aspect Art Museum CO, The Wexner Center (Columbus OH), and Yale Schwarzman Center. The piece also been selected as a ‘National Performance Network Creation & Development
Fund’ project, and it won a National Dance Project Production Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts.
Following a premiere at the Wexner Center in October, 2026 adaku, part 2 will tour in 2027 and 2028.
