![]() Pichet KlunchunDirector Pichet Klunchun bridges Thai Classical Dance with contemporary sensibility, while keeping the wisdom of the convention. He founded the Pichet Klunchun Dance Company in 2010 in order to create pure art performance and to train professional dancers with strong Thai classical dance backgrounds. The awards Pichet achieved include the “Routes” ECF Princess Margriet Award for Cultural Diversity from European Cultural Foundation, and the award honours artists in the field of cultural diversity for helping to combat fear and disrespect of “the other” in 2008; the Chevalier of the French Arts and Literature Order from the French Ministry of Culture for his contribution to the influence of Culture in France, Thailand and all over the world in 2012; and the John D. Rockefeller 3rd Award by Asian Cultural Council (award for an individual from Asia or USA who has made a significant contribution to the international understanding, practice, or study of the visual or performing arts of Asia) in 2014.
