![]() Tang Shu-wingTheatre Director and Educator Hong Kong based award-winning theatre director and educator, Tang Shu-wing was diplomé in Theatre Studies in the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. His research on the psycho-physical being of performer helps to establish his “minimalist body aesthetics”, whose practice is being shared by theatre-makers in Greater China. Major works include Phaedra, Hamlet, Titus Andronicus, Titus Andronicus 2.0, Macbeth, Detention, Thunderstorm, and King Lear. Former Dean of Drama of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), his passion to connect with people extends his works to dance, correctional institutes, youth theatre education, documentary film, interactive online film and international performance exchange through Shakespeare. Major awards include Medal of Honour by the Hong Kong government, the Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Honorary Fellow of Lingnan University, HKAPA and Hong Kong Arts Centre, l’Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
