Prof Tseng Sun Man was the first Chinese to be appointed Executive Director of the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society in 1993. He later served as Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. As an arts management educator, he was once Chair and Professor of the Arts Administration Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He also masterminded a new executive master programme for the Education University of Hong Kong. He was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association from 1991 to 1994. Over the years he served as Chairman and member in a number of government arts committees. From 2012 to 2017 he was a board member of the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) based in the United States. Currently he is a member of the Artistic Board of the Macau International Music Festival as well as the board member of six local cultural institutions.
