Luigi Maglione (Kashmere)

Italian-Swiss Artist

Luigi Maglione, known artistically as Kashmere, is an Italian-Swiss artist born in 2000. He holds a degree in philosophy and is an avid listener of pop, soul, and funk music—genres that have deeply inspired his songwriting and composition.

His musical journey began in childhood when, after his first guitar lessons, he attended a live concert by Edoardo Bennato and was captivated by his energy. That concert became the catalyst for Kashmere to start writing his first “little songs” during his teenage years.

In 2022, he released his debut single, James Brown, which caught the attention of many industry professionals. This was followed by Chi ti crederà più and Ammille, both distributed by Altafonte Italia in collaboration with THUFO, a former producer and keyboardist for Irama.

After reaching the finals of Area Sanremo 2022 and releasing the singles Ancora and Destinazione Offline under ATOMO World, Kashmere contributed to the track SALI SUL TRENO, the lead single from Pino D'Angiò’s album The New Album.

During the same period, he released his sixth single, BAI BAI. Toward the end of 2023, the Italian-Swiss artist reached the European finals of the Tour Music Fest in San Marino.

In anticipation of summer 2024, Kashmere released Paperina Qua Qua, a track leading up to the release of his EP Funky Maestro. The EP, distributed by Artist First in collaboration with Pino D’Angiò—undoubtedly his musical mentor—showcased Kashmere’s evolving artistry. As Pino D’Angiò himself stated, “Kashmere is a very talented and capable young man. [...] He has talent, but also the intelligence, culture, and humility to be my successor.”

In memory of Pino, Funky Maestro, released on September 13, 2024, received outstanding reviews from major Italian media outlets, significantly boosting Kashmere’s visibility.

In November 2024, the city of Lugano awarded Kashmere a music residency at Studio Foce, a prestigious venue where he was able to refine the live sound of his project, developing new stage arrangements in preparation for upcoming concerts.
