Amany Abouzeid has over 20 years of experience working across arts, international development, and social impact. She currently serves as Regional Arts Director at the British Council for the Middle East and North Africa, where she leads the strategy and delivery of multi-country cultural programmes. Her work includes strategy development, managing dispersed teams, overseeing programme and financial governance and compliance, and stakeholders, engagement and management. Previously, Amany was the Executive Director of Tamasi Performing Arts Collective where she established legal structures in Egypt and Sweden, and led two strategic cycles that positioned the organisation as a regional platform for arts and social change. She also created the Value Articulation Framework (VAF), a tool for arts organisations to define their value and strengthen sustainability models. Her earlier roles include humanitarian policy coordination at ActionAid, where she developed strategies on conflict, protection, and gender across four countries. She has also directed programmes addressing female genital mutilation and women’s reproductive and sexual health and rights. She developed programme frameworks and interventions supported and adopted by national and international organisations such as the World Bank and the EU. Amany holds a DBA in Business Administration, and MA in Social Anthropology; MA in Economic & Social Studies and BA in English Language & Literature.
