![]() Mikko FritzeDirector Mikko Fritze is currently the director of the Finnland-Institut, Berlin. As a graduate of Hamburg University with majors in German, biology and education, Mikko Fritze has had a varied career including social work, business, marketing, public relations as well as teaching, translating and interpreting. Before his post at the Finnland-Institut Mikko Fritze has worked for the Goethe Institute since 1990. He has served four times as director of the institute, in Estonia (1998 – 2004), in Uruguay (2004 – 2007), Finland (2010-2017) and the Netherlands (2017-2021). 2007-2010 he was as the CEO of the Foundation Tallinn2011 in charge of the Capital of Culture 2011 in Tallinn, Estonia. Mikko Fritze has published articles, given speaches and participated on panels on the theme of cultural exchange. He has been the member of different committees as f.e. the „World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 Committee”, the Committee “Finland – Guest of Honour on Frankfurt Book Fair 2014” and the board of the Finish Sauna Society. Currently he is a trustee of the Artistic Advisory Board of the Arvo Pärt Center, Estonia and a board member of Chemnitz25 – European Capital of Culture. Mikko Fritze‘s main professional interests include international event and art management as well as public relations. He is happily mariied and proud of their three children. He speaks German and Finnish both as mothertongues, he is fluent in Spanish, English and Estonian. Moderator |
