![]() Anthony Sargent CBEInternational Cultural Advisor After studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University, Anthony worked for thirteen years with BBC Radio and TV in presentation, production and management, including managing the artistic planning of the BBC Proms and BBC Symphony Orchestra. After working as Artistic Projects Director of London’s Southbank Centre he moved to Birmingham as the City Council’s Head of Arts for ten years, leading the Council’s biggest arts investments and projects, co-leading with Sir Simon Rattle Birmingham’s acclaimed 10-year festival of the 20th Century, Towards the Millennium. After returning to the BBC in the management of its nationwide, multiplatform Radio and TV Millennium Music Live, he was founding General Director for fifteen years of The Glasshouse International Centre for Music before moving to Canada, first to lead Luminato Festival Toronto as its CEO, then working as Interim Director of Toronto’s Koffler Centre of the Arts. He served for three years as Board Chair of ISPA and now, as an international cultural advisor and consultant, he has written two major studies of the global implications of Covid-19 for the cultural sector published by the University of Leeds’ Centre for Cultural Value.
