Clemency Burton-Hill is Creative Director of Music & Arts at New York Public Radio and Executive Producer of WNYC Studios’ podcast The Open Ears Project. In her native UK she has been a leading arts broadcaster since 2008, hosting numerous TV & radio programs including BBC Radio 3 Breakfast Show, the Culture Show and the Proms. She hosts the Royal Opera House global cinema broadcasts live from Covent Garden; the BBC podcast Classical Fix; and the Moments That Made Me podcast from Vanity Fair. Clemency is the author of three books, including the international bestseller Year of Wonder: Classical Music to Enjoy Day By Day (Harper). She is a regular contributor to the FT Weekend, Economist, Guardian and BBC Music Magazine. In 2005, she co-founded the award-winning chamber ensemble Aurora Orchestra, and as a violinist has performed at La Scala; Barbican; Berlin Staatskapelle and Vienna’s Musikverein under leading conductors including Daniel Barenboim.
