Joseph Pupe is catalysing the future ecosystem of the performing arts as a key driver for sustainable change, empowering young people to contribute to the resilience of their communities, and drive social progress in Zambia and beyond. Joseph believes that to accelerate progress on climate action requires a robust integrated multilateral approach and performing arts is a powerful conduit. In the spirit of leaving no one behind, He founded Music Inspires Foundation, a platform for performing arts, and sustainability. Joseph is a contributor on The Initiative on Communication and Sustainability at Columbia University's Climate School (USA), and an associate of the United Nations Information Center in Zambia. His work has been recognized by some of the greatest thought leaders of our time including Queen Elizabeth II who awarded him with the prestigious Queens Young Leaders award. He has worked with the United Nations Zambia, UNLEASH Innovation Lab, Queens Commonwealth Trust, Children’s Radio Foundation, Centre for Complex Systems in Transition at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and Norwegian Environment Agency.
