Yuval Sharon is founder and Artistic Co-Director of The Industry in Los Angeles and the Gary L. Wasserman Artistic Director of Detroit Opera. He was named a MacArthur fellow in 2017 and Musical America's Director of the Year in 2023. His work has been seen at the Bayreuther Festspiele, the Hollywood Bowl, the Staatsoper Berlin, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Cleveland Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall, as well as in moving vehicles, operating train stations, Hollywood sound stages, and parking garages. Still to come this season is a new production of John Cage’s Europeras 3&4 in Detroit and the world premiere of COMET/POPPEA, with music by George Lewis and Monteverdi, in Los Angeles.
