Since 2021Andrea Caruso Saturnino is the General Director of Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, the Brazil's leading opera and production house, home to an acclaimed contemporary dance company, two orchestras, two choirs, and a string quartet. Andrea works with a talented team and an extensive network of collaborators to produce a rich artistic program, implement archival policies, and expand the educational initiatives. Her focus is on developing new collaborative methods, promoting diversity, and establishing sustainable practices for the theater.

Her artistic journey is distinguished by her long connection to performance and visual arts both nationally and internationally. She holds a PhD in Performing Arts from the University of São Paulo and a master's degree in Performing Arts from Sorbonne Nouvelle. She was awarded the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and serves as Vice President of the board of OLA – Opera Latino America. Andrea is the author of numerous articles and the book Slight Displacement of Real - Experience, Device and Utopia on the Scene (Ed. Sesc).
