Kristy Edmunds is the Director of MASS MoCA, the largest multi-disciplinary contemporary art museum in the US. Edmunds is an internationally recognized leader in the art and culture sector and known for her commitment to artists in visual and performing arts practices nationally and internationally. She was the inaugural recipient of the Berresford Prize, awarded by artists through United States Artists, and was bestowed the honor of Chevalier l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2016 in recognition of her contributions to the arts. Prior to MASS MoCA, she was the Director of the Center for the Art of Performance in Los Angeles; the founding Artistic Director of the Park Avenue Armory, NY; the Artistic Director of the Melbourne International Arts Festival (2005-2008), and the founder of the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art in Portland, Oregon. She serves on numerous boards and select committees including Young Arts, and the Governor's Executive Committee for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
