Freddie Opoku-Addaie

Artistic Director and Co-Chief Executive
Dance Umbrella
United Kingdom

Freddie Opoku-Addaie is Artistic Director and co-Chief Executive of Dance Umbrella (DU, London's International Dance Festival). Before which, as DU Guest Programmer, he curated ‘Out of the System’, a platform for innovative established and emerging talent from the UK and beyond.

With over 20 years' experience as an independent artist, he performed and toured both his own work and work with well-known companies both across the UK and internationally. Born and raised in the midst of East London’s multiculturalist society as well as Ghana, working on projects of the widest variety of size, budget, organisations and institutions fuels his artistic cultural equity practices. This is exemplified by SystemsLAB (2016), which he founded to address the diversity of lived experience in the 21st century.
