![]() Emil KangAgnes Gund Visiting Professor of the Practice Until recently, Emil J. Kang was program director for Arts and Culture at the Mellon Foundation where he led the grantmaking program nurturing exceptional creative accomplishment, scholarship, and conservation practices while advancing a diverse and sustainable ecosystem for the arts. In 2016, Mr. Kang was also named special assistant to the chancellor for the arts and founded Arts Everywhere, a major campus and community-wide initiative dedicated to integrating artistic practice, learning, and engagement in the lives of the entire community. Mr. Kang has served as a member of the National Council on the Arts since 2012, having been nominated by former President Barack Obama. Mr. Kang currently serves as the Agnes Gund Visiting Professor of the Practice of Arts at Brown University, as a member of the Council of Korean Americans, and on the boards of Silkroad and the New York City Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission.
