Murielle Borst Tarrant (Kuna/Rappahannock Nations ) Native American playwright, performer, director, and educator whose work bridges ceremonial practice, Indigenous dramaturgy, and contemporary performance. Internationally recognized for blending ancestral narratives with innovative theatrical forms, advancing Indigenous sovereignty in the arts, and mentoring the next generation of theater-makers. Experienced in interdisciplinary collaboration, public engagement, and the creation of sustainable models for Indigenous-led theater. Founder and Artistic Director of Safe Harbors NYC, a Six Year Mellon Foundation Playwright Fellow, and has held appointments as a 250th Anniversary Visiting Assistant Professor of the Practice & Visiting Fellow at the Brown Arts Institute and as an Artistic Practitioner Fellow at Brown’s CSREA. Her writing appears in Performing Worlds into Being, Staging Coyote’s Dream, My Home As I Remember, Seventh Generation: An Anthology of Native American Plays, and HowlRound. Her produced plays include Tipi Tales from the Stoop (Perelman Performing Arts Center, 2025), Feast of Ghosts, Don’t Feed the Indians: A Divine Comedy Pageant!, and More Than Feathers and Beads, presented at the Sydney Opera House.
