Cao Yuxi (also known as James Cao) is a new media artist whose practice spans sound-driven installations, live performance, creative coding, data visualization, and AI-based contemporary art. He holds an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts, New York, and a BFA from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. His works have been exhibited internationally at institutions including Today Art Museum, OCAT, He Xiangning Art Museum, and MoMA PS1, and are featured in major public art projects such as permanent installations at Beijing Daxing International Airport and Shenzhen Civic Center. In 2022, he served as Visual Effects Director for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Based between Shanghai and Hong Kong, Cao Yuxi continues to explore the intersection of technology, public space, and contemporary culture.
