Marie Fol is an advocate for international cultural collaboration, active as independent advisor, researcher and cultural manager. Based on her past experience with artist residencies and the music industry (Keychange, One Voice for European Music), as well as expertise on cultural mobility, Marie is now developing a body of research on residencies for musicians.

Marie is a frequent public speaker on fair practices in the arts and has presented sessions on equity and fair practices issues (with focus on gender equity, music and/or artist mobility) at numerous international conferences. Marie is a board director of Res Artis (Australia) and Keychange (Belgium).

In 2025, together with Tamizdat, Marie co-initiated Live|Arts|Lab: a series of workshops, each designed to leverage the wisdom and experience of culture leaders to define and refine strategies and initiatives that encourage fairness and equity across the global cultural ecosystem.
