Singapore Repertory Theatre
Singapore

Gaurav has been involved with Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) for almost 30 years. SRT became the first Singaporean theatre company on Broadway in 1998, as Associate Producer on 'Golden Child', which earned three Tony Award nominations. SRT has presented work by Peter Brook, Yukio Ninagawa, Simon McBurney, Yael Farber and Trevor Nunn, as well as other renowned theatre-makers across Asia.

SRT co-commissioned the Bridge Project, a Sam Mendes collaboration between The Old Vic (London) and BAM (New York). Gaurav has commissioned and produced over 150 plays and musicals, including 'Forbidden City', and leads SRT’s biennial Shakespeare in the Park. He champions arts education, with SRT a major producer of children’s theatre in Southeast Asia.

He formerly served as Vice-Chair of the ISPA Board and was on the Board of Trustees of Shakespeare’s Globe.

From 2018 to 2021, he concurrently served as Festival Director of the Singapore International Festival of Arts.

This year, SRT and Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay will co-produce and world premiere Roald Dahl's 'The BFG', together with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Chichester Festival Theatre and the Roald Dahl Story Company
