Australia

Dr Grace Nye-Butler is Co-Director of Theatre Green Book Australia, championing environmental sustainability across the performing arts sector. In this role, she adapts the international Theatre Green Book framework to Australian contexts, celebrating First Nations knowledge with Western practices to drive eco-efficient theatre-making and circular economy principles to create climate-positive cultural events.

Grace's background spans stage management (AdvDip West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) and environmental science (BSc, PhD Marine Social Ecology, University of New South Wales). As Research Fellow in Griffith University’s Performance and Ecology Research Lab, she drives interdisciplinary research on eco-creative strategies for sustainable theatre making in the performing arts.
