Fellowship Participants![]() Romy Assouad Founder and Director Romy Assouad is the founder and director of Yaraqa, a creative production and consulting company that has worked with dance and movement methodologies to create lasting impact across communities and industries since 2014. With over 20 years directing and producing in the creative and cultural industries, she specializes in ecosystem design, cultural strategy, and cross-industry experimentation. Through Yaraqa, Romy focuses on reimagining the “how” of cultural production, exploring ways the performing arts can integrate into today’s society and economy. She sees dance not only as an artform but as a way of thinking and shaping projects, relationships, and systems. This approach has generated new models for sustainable working through initiatives ranging from a Netflix-featured docuseries to a multi-year UK–Lebanon sector development program, and has facilitated unlikely collaborations with artists, cross-sector partners, and public/private sector actors. Her work spans Lebanon, the UAE, Scotland, Montreal, and the USA, connecting grounded local approaches with global practices. Today, she continues to build relational platforms and entrepreneurial strategies that turn research into action, supporting the development of both communities and industries. >>View Romy's member profile (member sign-in required) Thank you to ISPA’s Global Fellowship + Diversity Fund donors for their generous support of the Global Fellowship Program.
