Mubiru Albert is a seasoned arts manager with over a decade of experience leading major cultural initiatives in Uganda and across East Africa. As Production Director at Batalo East Arts Ltd since 2017, he has overseen the growth of the Batalo Dance Festival, Batalo East academy and led innovative regional arts programs supported by UNESCO, Stitching DOEN and Africalia. Albert’s career spans strategic roles with the several Kingdoms and chiefdoms in Uganda, Brown University, Cal Arts institute and Umoja Flying Carpet, where he has built intercultural collaborations, empowered young creatives in arts mentorship programs and managed several large-scale arts productions. He holds certifications in performing arts management, lighting and sound design, a BA in Economics from Makerere University, and serves on multiple boards advocating for arts, culture, and human rights.
