Hanako Yamaguchi

Independent Arts Consultant

Hanako Yamaguchi is an independent arts consultant who believes in the transformative power of the arts. Her current projects include advising for Little Island, a new magical refuge in the Hudson River Park, and managing the WQXR Artist Propulsion Lab initiative.

She served thirty illustrious years at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, most recently as Director of Music Programming. During her tenure she planned and curated the Mostly Mozart Festival and Great Performers series, and more recently the White Light Festival. Lincoln Center evolved and expanded from presenting concerts to also producing multi-disciplinary presentations that included multi-genre music, dance, theater, film, and the spoken word. The organization, and its music programming, established a reputation for trailblazing innovation and diversification of the performance experience.

She is currently a board member of the International for the Performing Arts and has also served as an advisor, panelist, and juror for various funding and arts organizations and competitions. She graduated with honors from Brown University with a concentration in music.
